Activities


The activities carried out or conducted by CAWU are all in accordance with the regulations for NGO's as laid out in Article 48 of Executive Statute of Law 84 of 2002 (84/2002).

CAWU's activities share the common goal of promoting tolerance, understanding and dialogue between Muslims and non Muslims and Arab and Western countries and communities.

There is a particular emphasis or focus on education for peace and training as a vehicle - particularly among scholars, diplomats, journalists, students, other researchers and general users - to foster relations and dialogue between Muslims and non-Muslims.

  • Contributing to the electronic library of Arab-West Report
  • Newsletters
  • Training in computer related translation and language applications.

Important  activities in 2008 were:

  • reacting to Geert Wilders' filme "Fitna" in lectures, discussions and newspaper articles
  • hosting the visit of a Dutch delegation in connection with the "Fitna" issue
